Verason Studio offers bilingual music instructions in Mandarin Chinese and English for early childhood, youth, and adults in a supportive and engaging environment. Our approach goes beyond learning notes and technique. We help students build musicianship and confidence through singing, playing, movement, ensemble work, improvisation, with an emphasis on active participation. We recognize that every student learns differently, and we encourage curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, and individual expression. Whether you are at the beginning of your musical journey or looking to grow as a performer, musician, or creator, we are here to help you finding your voice through music.
诺声音乐工作室致力于为幼儿、青少年、与成人提供专业、开放、且有温度的中英双语音乐教育。我们相信，音乐学习不仅是技巧的培养，也是聆听、表达、创造、合作与建立自信的过程。工作室以歌唱、键盘、器乐、律动与音乐创作为不同的学习入口，让学生在演唱、演奏、律动、合奏、即兴与创作中主动体验音乐，在过程中逐渐建立扎实的音乐能力。我们重视每位学习者的年龄、经验与个性，不以单一的学习路径衡量音乐成长，而是鼓励学生探索、尝试，并在体验与实践中形成自己的音乐理解与表达方式。无论是第一次接触音乐，还是希望进一步提升演唱、演奏、与创作能力，诺声都希望提供一个既专业又自在的学习空间，让每个人都找到属于自己的声音。
Faculty｜师资简介
Kelly Ye, Founder & Artistic Director
Kelly Ye is a music educator, conductor, and classical soprano, as well as a church musician. Her work spans solo voice, choral music, handbells, keyboard, and creative musicianship. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Music Theory/Composition from Westminster Choir College, and she has also completed graduate study in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the same school.
Ms. Ye's teaching approach combines strong musical foundations with experience-based learning. She encourages students to engage with music as performers, listeners, creators, and collaborators through activities such as singing, playing instruments, moving, making music in ensembles, improvising, and composing. She values curiosity and individuality in the learning process and aims to help students develop technical skills and a personal connection to music.
Ms. Ye has taught voice, choral performance, keyboard, handbells, composition, and musicianship to students a-cross a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Her background also includes extensive experience in performing choral works, solo vocal repertoire, and handbell ensemble repertoire. With her extensive training in music education and a deep understanding of the science behind the human voice, Ms. Ye takes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching, connecting musicianship, technique, and creativity.
As the founder and artistic director of Verason Studio, Ms. Ye is committed to creating a rigorous, welcoming, and creative bilingual musical environment where all students can explore, grow, and develop their own musical voice.
叶青阳, 创办人与艺术总监
叶青阳是一位音乐教育者、指挥、女高音及教会音乐工作者。她的专业领域涵盖独唱、合唱、手钟、键盘以及综合音乐素养等多个方向。她毕业于美国西敏唱诗班学院，获得音乐教育与音乐理论/作曲方向的音乐学士学位，并于同校继续完成声乐表演与声乐教学法方向的研究生学习。
在教学中，叶老师不仅重视扎实的音乐基础，也强调通过个人体验来理解音乐。她鼓励学生从演唱、演奏、律动、合作、即兴与创作等多种方式感受音乐，在创造音乐的过程中逐步建立音准、节奏、音乐理解与表达能力。她相信每位学生的学习方式与成长路径都不尽相同，因此在教学中尤其重视好奇心、主动探索与个体表达。在技术训练之外，也帮助学生建立与音乐之间更深、更持久的纽带。
叶老师教授声乐、合唱、键盘乐器、手钟、作曲及综合音乐素养等课程，学生年龄与背景广泛。与此同时，她也拥有丰富的舞台实践经验，长期参与专业合唱作品、古典声乐曲目及手钟合奏作品的排练与演出。凭借系统的音乐教育训练，以及对人声发声的科学原理与机制的深入理解，叶老师在教学中注重音乐素养、音乐技术、及创造性学习的结合，从全面的方向帮助学生发展音乐能力。
作为诺声音乐工作室的创办人及艺术总监，叶老师希望为大家打造一个兼具专业性、开放性与创造力的中英双语音乐学习环境，让不同年龄、不同背景的学生都能够自在地探索音乐、进步成长，让每一位成员都能从音乐中找到属于自己的声音。
Steven Moyer, Principal Collaborative Pianist & Piano Faculty
Steven Moyer is a classical musician holding his Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance from West Chester University. Past teachers include John P Melley, Dr. Robert Bedford, Robert Durso, and Dr. Sara Davis Buechner. He has participated in masterclasses with incredible pianists such as Sofya Gulyak and Jon Nakamatasu. In the Philadelphia area, Mr. Moyer has been a piano instructor with over ten years with experience teaching students of all ages and levels. He also actively pursues endeavors as a collaborative pianist with soloists, ensembles, musical theater productions, and more.

Can adults take classes or lessons even if they are complete beginners?
Absolutely! Adult beginners are very welcome at Verason Studio. We understand that starting music as an adult can sometimes feel intimidating, thus all our lessons are supportive, flexible, and paced around your comfort level and goals. Please do not hesitate to take your first step and reach out to us!
完全没有音乐基础的成年人也可以来上课吗？
当然可以！诺声非常欢迎零基础的成人学生。成年以后新开始学音乐可能会让人觉得有一点紧张，所以我们的成人初级课程会保持轻松、耐心和灵活，并根据每个人的学习节奏、需求来调整目标。种一棵树最好的时间是十年前，其次是现在！如果您有任何想法或问题，请随时联系我们。
How do I know which program is right for me or my child?
You can start by browsing the course descriptions under the “Programs” tab. If you’re still not sure, you’re welcome to schedule a free consultation or trial lesson through our online portal. You can also fill out the contact form on this website or contact the studio directly by email, text, WeChat, or phone; we’ll be happy to help you find the best fit. For more advanced programs, if Ms. Ye has not worked with you before, she may also reach out to schedule a short placement assessment to make sure the class is a good match for your current level.

Would taking voice lessons make anyone a better singer?
Absolutely! Many people mistakenly believe that a good singing voice is something you have to be born with, but the human voice is an instrument that can be trained just like any other. A good singing voice depends on one’s muscle coordination, strength, and musicality. As long as there are no significant issues affecting your hearing or vocal mechanism, consistent and professionally guided training can improve pitch, tone, breath control, range, and overall musical expression.
当然可以！很多人觉得唱歌好听单纯靠“天赋”，但其实很多能力都是可以后天训练而成的。音准、气息、音色、共鸣、音域，唱歌时的稳定度和表现力，都与身体协调、发声方式以及音乐素养有关。只要身体的听觉和发声机能没有明显病理问题，经过持续、科学的训练，大多数人都会比原来唱得更轻松，也更好听。

Are lessons taught in English or Chinese?
Based on your needs and preferences, private lessons can be taught in English, Chinese, or a combination of both. For group classes and rehearsals, please refer to the individual course description under the “Programs” tab for language details.
小课（一对一、一对多）是用中文还是英文教学？
都可以！我们会根据学生的需求和习惯，用中文、英文，或者中英结合的方式教授小课。大班课和集体排练时使用语言会根据每门课程安排决定，您可以在 “Programs / 课程简介” 页面查看每一门课程的介绍。
